Connect the Model Match MCP server to ChatGPT as a custom connector.

ChatGPT supports MCP servers as custom connectors via developer mode. ChatGPT connects to a dedicated Model Match server URL and authenticates with your Model Match account via OAuth — no API keys or config files required.

Custom connectors require a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, or Enterprise plan, with developer mode enabled.

Enable developer mode

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Advanced.
  2. Turn on Developer mode.

Add the connector

  1. Go to Settings → Connectors and click Create (custom connector).
  2. Set the name to Model Match and paste the URL https://chatgpt.modelmatch.com/mcp.
  3. Click Create, then Connect and sign in to Model Match when the authorization window opens.
  4. Start a new chat — open the + (tools) menu, enable Model Match, and the tools are ready to use.

When you first use a Model Match tool, you'll authenticate via OAuth. Your existing permissions and workspace access apply to every tool call.
